An oversized pitcher in cream colored ceramic with satin finish. Pol Chambost (1906-1983) was a French ceramicist who created an extensive body of work defined by biomorphic forms and primary colors. He was innovative in his use of modern equipment, producing work in a series. Chambost was a contemporary of Georges Jouve and Paul Pouchol, who he frequently collaborated with. Chambost slipped into obscurity but in recent years but re-emerged as a key figure in the mid-century French ceramics. Unsigned.
