A mexican chair with blonde wood frame and natural hide sling back, in the style of Clara Porset. The butaque style chair has a long history in Mexico, originating back to the Spanish colonial era. Cuban-born designer Clara Porset moved to Mexico in the 1930s where she reinterpreted the butaque design in a simplified, modern way. Porset’s work would later lead her to collaborate with Luis Barragan on furnishings for his home and other residential projects.
