Values

Sophie Buhai is a boutique jewelry company based in Los Angeles. We create modernist sterling silver jewelry and hair accessories with a focus on timeless designs, local production, and recycled and responsibly-sourced materials. We continuously strive to implement practices that further these values.

MATERIALS 

We design each of our collections with the intention of creating pieces that can be passed down through generations, with minimal waste and minimal carbon footprint.

Our jewelry is made with recycled and responsibly-sourced sterling silver. We aim to minimize waste in the production of our pieces, and therefore, many of our pieces are made to order.

We use recycled and biodegradable materials in our packaging and in our studio where practicable, and we continuously look for ways to be more conscious of our environmental impact.

PRODUCTION 

Our jewelry is virtually all made by local artisans based in Los Angeles, with expertise in traditional methods of crafting jewelry by hand.

We work with responsible manufacturing partners and suppliers, and we try to produce our pieces locally where possible. We value local production both because supporting our community is important to us and because it can reduce waste and the use of resources.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY 

We continuously try to do our part to support our community. 

We are engaged in substantial philanthropic efforts, including promoting and organizing a biennial charity event for the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law, a legal services organization that protects victims of domestic violence.
