Louis Sognot Tubular Metal Stool C 1930

A clean-lined modernist stool by Louis Sognot made of tubular nickel plated metal. Sognot, an influential modernist, took his own approach to metal furniture, reconciling an overly clinical style with traditions of French decoration and individualism. Seat has been reupholstered with Pierre Frey mohair velvet. A luxurious and functional piece.
